The Imams and Rabbis Council of the United Kingdom is a leading members of the Scriptures in Dialogue Academic Collaboration of Jewish, Islamic and Christian theological colleges and academic institutions. As such, it is the leading scholarly contributor from rabbinic and imamate scholarship to Scriptural Reasoning - the practice of Jews, Christians and Muslims meeting to study their sacred texts in order to understand more deeply religious differences and foster "better quality disagreement". The rabbis and imams from the Council also provide ethical and juristic oversight according to Islamic and Jewish law over the practice of Scriptural Reasoning, to ensure that it remains at all times within acceptable religious-moral boundaries in the treatment of sacred texts, and is never instrumentalised or commodified for financial or political reasons.
